Jiang Zemin,a communist of high power in China, has persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners throughout China. Falun Dafa is a way of life for seven million Chinese people. The religion started by Li Hongzhi in 1992 incorporates Buddhist principles, Taoist principles, Qigong (body, mind and physical exercise) and healing techniques. On April 25, 1999 about 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners lined up outside the Headquarters of the Chinese governement. They stood for twelve hours in a silent peaceful protest agianst the recent negative propoganda agianst Falun Dafa and the arrest weeks before of other peaceful Falun Dafa protestors. The protesters dispersed once word spread that the Premier Zhu Rongji promised to resolve the situation at hand within three days and meet the requests by the practitioners. This protest alamered many of the senior leaders in China, especially Jiang Zeim, for they feared another uprising like the 19th century Tiaping Rebellion. Falun Dafa was then banned in July 1999 by the Peoples Rebublic of China headed by Jiang Zeim. Jiang Zeim believes he is manging the country with virtue therefore the practice of Falun Dafa needs to be illegal.

From July 1999 to May 2004(58 months) 960 Falun Dafa parishoners have died, 52% of them being women. Numerous women have been raped, forced to have an abortion, beaten and tortured in horrid ways. One women was hanging up Falun Dafa posters and was caught by a police officer. She was then beaten in broad daylight for an hour, as passerbys watched, raped and left for death. Hundreds of thousands of Falun Dafa practitioners are also sent to forced labor camps to be tortured into giving up their beliefs.
